A New Chapter for Tadpole
When Allan Birch and Wymond Symes founded Tadpole, they had a clear purpose: to help businesses navigate the complex world of ESG and sustainability in ways that made commercial sense.
Our original brand, complete with its namesake amphibian, reflected our origins as a nimble, specialist consultancy carving out space in a sector dominated by the Big 4.
Our tiny tadpole served us well. We wanted it to signal our approachability, agility, and a willingness to do things differently. Which it did. But now, almost six years on, as our work has grown, and the team with it, we’re now engaging with boardrooms across Australia and New Zealand. We’ve, evolved. Not yet a frog (and we have no intention of ever evolving that much), but it is time for our brand to evolve with us, and to reflect the transformation we help our clients achieve.
Our Evolution
This is more about growing up, than reinventing who we are. We've retained what makes Tadpole distinctive: our personality, pragmatism, and ability to talk without jargon. But our new visual identity better reflects where we are today. A consultancy with strategic depth, competing at the highest level, while staying true to the belief that got us here. It also it signals why we’re called Tadpole: we guide businesses through transformation, helping them grow from early-stage change into lasting impact.
Our new logo is confident, clean, and built for the contexts where our work now lives, —from assessment reports to strategy decks and due diligence statements. It communicates our commitment to meaningful business outcomes and Tadpole’s ability to simplify complex information, so clients can focus on decisions rather than wading through data. Transformation doesn’t have to be overwhelming; we make it clear, achievable, and actionable.
Making Good Business, Good Business
Our new tagline captures the philosophy that has guided us from the start. There’s a persistent myth that sustainability and commercial success are opposing forces. That doing the right thing comes at the expense of doing well. We’ve spent the past six years proving otherwise. Businesses that will thrive in the decades ahead recognize that sustainable practices aren’t constraints, they are drivers of growth.
We think ‘making good business, good business’ says this plainly. No sector buzzwords, just a clear statement of what we help our clients to do: transform the way they operate so they are not only good at what they do, but good for the world they operate in.
What Stays the Same
We haven’t changed our services, our people, or the way we work. We’re still honest, pragmatic, and commercially grounded, so we understand ESG from our clients’ perspective. We still believe that ESG transformation should be led by strategy, not compliance, and we continue to build capability within clients’ teams rather than creating dependency on Tadpole. And we still think the best sustainability work is the kind that makes a CFO as happy as a sustainability lead.
