Many carbon measurement tools are designed with larger companies in mind, making them unnecessarily complex if you’re a smaller business wanting to understand your carbon footprint. The ACE Calculator keeps things simple and is easy to use.
The ACE Calculator covers the key sources of emissions typically relevant to small and medium-sized businesses. These include:
Scope 1 emissions (from fuels and refrigerant gases you use)
Scope 2 emissions (from the electricity you purchase and use), and
Common Scope 3 emissions such as business travel, waste and working from home.
Because emission factors differ between Australia and New Zealand, we have created a version specifically for each country. Simply download the version for your location and enter your data, using one tab for each month of your reporting period. That’s it. Full instructions are included, and no specialist training is required.
Once you’ve entered your data, the ACE Calculator gives you a clear picture of your total carbon footprint, where your emissions are coming from, and how they accumulate over the year.
The calculator results will provide:
Tables and a bar chart showing emissions by source and by month
A cumulative emissions graph across the year
Once you understand your carbon footprint, you’re in a much better position to identify where you can reduce emissions and consider whether offsetting is appropriate for any remaining emissions.
